PriceWise
PriceWise is DisplaySearch's free semi-monthly pricing service that carefully aggregates market prices for large production volumes of A-grade LCD panels. Use it to keep up with the latest shifts in panel pricing, demand and purchasing across the globe. Updated twice a month, PriceWise covers pricing changes for seven applications: LCD monitors, notebook PCs, LCD TVs, mobile phones, digital picture frames, mini-notes and digital still cameras.
Due to the dominance of LCD in the TV market, PDP panel prices are not included in PriceWise. If you are interested in PDP panel pricing, we recommend the extensive data in the Monthly Large-Area LCD and PDP Pricing Report or the overview provided in the DisplaySearch Monitor.
A Highlight from the Current LCD Monitor Data
Panel makers intend to keep prices flat, but monitor brands and OEMs continue to ask for panel price concessions in July with low demand and heavy margin pressure. Some monitor brands are reporting inventory issues, so they will prioritize inventory clearance/control rather than the market share in the short term. Overall, panel prices continue to drop in July, and this includes the LED models. Uncertainty about regional demand, especially for Europe and China, remains a concern. The demand for LCD TV is another critical factor for the monitor panel pricing outlook.
