Analysis Highlight and Recent Prices by Size and Resolution for Mobile Phones
Average prices of mobile phone display are decreasing, as supply volume is increasing with more Gen 5 and even Gen 6 LCD capacity used for mobile phone panel production. In addition to a-Si displays, average prices of LTPS panels are falling constantly. Some panel makers are aggressively bringing LTPS panels to entry- and middle-level mobile phones. For low resolution panels, such as WVGA (800 × 480), the price gap between a-Si and LTPS is narrowing. Taiwanese and Korean panel makers are aggressive in LTPS TFT LCD panel quotations, especially to China mobile makers.
