Charles Annis is Vice President of Manufacturing Research at DisplaySearch. As one of the company’s leading analysts, he is responsible for tracking and forecasting FPD investments and researching equipment, materials and process trends, as well as analyzing emerging technologies.

Charles is also Vice President of Asia Operations at Solarbuzz. He has been tracking the PV industry since 2006 and was instrumental in the launch of the DisplaySearch solar business as well as in the integration of Solarbuzz. Charles leads Asian research activities for Solarbuzz and specializes in research of PV materials and components.

Before joining DisplaySearch, Charles spent six years at Photon Dynamics (now Orbotech), a leading AMLCD yield management provider. There, he performed strategic planning and business development in addition to market research and product marketing for automated cell/module inspection tools. Prior to that, he served as the international business manager at SAMCO International, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer in Kyoto, Japan.

Education: Charles has a master's degree in business law from Ryukoku University in Kyoto and a bachelor's degree from Pomona College in Claremont, California.
