President, NPD Technology Analyst Business
Paul is responsible for managing the DisplaySearch and Solarbuzz businesses within The NPD Group. Previously Paul served as Vice President of Display Research for iSuppli Corporation and for Stanford Resources, Inc. Paul has been a program officer at the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board of the National Research Council, an analyst for the US Congress Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), and a member of technical staff at The Analytic Sciences Corporation. Paul received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Master's degree in Electro-optics from Tufts University, and a Master's degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Sam has 15 years of display experience from Matsushita and Compaq in the US and Japan. For 10 years, he held senior positions at Compaq in strategic planning, display procurement, market research and flat panel engineering. He has been an invited speaker at FPD conferences around the world including LCD International, Electronic Display Forum (keynote) and Fine Process Technology. Sam has also been published in most Japanese display magazines including Nikkei Microdevices, Nikkei's Flat Panel Display Yearbook, Electronic Journal and Press Journal. In addition, he pioneered the industry's first LCD/CRT price penetration curve and coined the term "mega-note." He has excellent bilingual skills and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Hiroshima University
Vice President, Greater China Market and FPD Supply Chain Research
David came to NPD DisplaySearch from HannStar Display, a leading TFT LCD producer, where he was a key account manager responsible for both notebook PC and LCD monitor accounts. Prior to two years in HannStar's sales and marketing department, He served for a total of five years as production planner and production engineer at HannStar's TFT LCD module line and Hitachi Kaohsiung's STN LCD module line. David is fluent in Taiwanese, Mandarin, Japanese and English and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Chung-Yuan Christian University.
Vice President, Japanese TV Market Research
Hisakazu Torii is Vice President of Japanese TV Market Research at DisplaySearch. He brings 18 years of display industry experience and is responsible for covering all Japanese TV brands across Asia Pacific. Before joining DisplaySearch, Hisakazu worked at Mitsubishi Electric where he conducted market research for product groups, business planning and new product development in all major display applications, including TVs, notebook PCs, monitors, mobile phones, digital still cameras, digital video recorders, automotive displays and industrial applications. Hisakazu has a degree from the Department of Law at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.

As an analyst, Yoshio Tamura is known for his insight and for his relationships with panel and key component suppliers. He has spoken at display conferences in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China. Yoshio Tamura developed many of the DisplaySearch FPD market reports, improving and extending our analysis. Yoshio Tamura was appointed Vice President and Japan Office Representative for DisplaySearch in 2000. He has more than 20 years of experience in FPD market research including his former position with Techno Systems Research, a respected Tokyo-based market research firm.
Vice President, Manufacturing Research
Based in Japan, Charles Annis serves as the Vice President of Manufacturing Research at DisplaySearch. As one of the leading experts in the FPD industry, he analyzes emerging technologies, tracks and forecasts FPD investments, and researches equipment, materials, and process trends. Annis also serves in a dual role as Vice President at NPD Solarbuzz. Before joining DisplaySearch, Annis spent six years at leading AMLCD yield management provider, Photon Dynamics (now Orbotech). Prior to that, he served as the international business manager at SAMCO International, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer in Kyoto, Japan.
General Manager, DisplaySearch Korea, and Director, Materials, Cost, and AMOLED Research
Yoonsung Chung is Director of Large-Area Displays & FPD Materials analysis in the DisplaySearch Korea office. Yoonsung is a recognized display expert and has been invited to speak on large-area displays, especially on PDP technology, at many Korean FPD forums. Before joining DisplaySearch, he spent 10 years on the R&D and marketing teams of Samsung SDI's CRT and PDP Division. There, he managed PDP product planning and technology marketing, led the FPD benchmarking team in the PDP Division and taught Samsung SDI's new employees about display history and technologies. Yoonsung has a bachelor's degree from Kookmin University in Seoul.
Vice President, Global Sales
Richard manages the worldwide sales team for NPD DisplaySearch in China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, India, Europe and North America. Before joining DisplaySearch, Richard was Senior Vice President Sales for Current Analysis from 1997 to 2006, where he gained most of his experience in international sales. Before DisplaySearch and Current Analysis, Richard held sales leadership positions at Computer Intelligence, Dataquest, and Xerox.
Vice President, Business Operations and Technology
Rachel is responsible for global business operations—leveraging processes and tools to meet and exceed the needs of the business and its clients. Her team is responsible for the quality production and delivery of DisplaySearch and Solarbuzz research and reports, sales operations, and technology infrastructure and enablement. Previously, Rachel held positions in information technology, project management, and corporate operations in industries including economic development, education, and publishing. Rachel received a Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and a Master’s in Information Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
